Our crazy for good campaign is in full swing, so come and join us at one of the following venues and stand a chance to win great prizes! Share your random acts of kindness with us and the best story will win a Coke hamper. Winners can then nominate a friend or family member in the crowd so that they can automatically win a hamper too.

Discovery Cape Times Big Walk

The Discovery Cape Times Big Walk is regarded as the second oldest mass participation-sporting event in the world, second only to the Tour de France. The initial Big Walk in Cape Town attracted 61 competitors and over the years grew into one of the biggest mass participation sporting events in the country. Today well over 27 000 folk hit the road on Big Walk day and the event is still organized under the auspices of Spartan Harriers.

In the early days, the winners of the 50-miler were heralded as heroes. Today the participation has certainly overtaken the racing as the defining nature of the Discovery Cape Times Big Walk. The Big Walk has grown into one of Cape Town’s favourite charity events raising thousands of Rands for various nominated charities such as The Breast Cancer Fundraisers and the Steenberg Foundation who benefitted for the last 3 years, as well as many other organisations under the auspices of the Rotary Club of Newlands and Spartan Harriers running club.

We are proud to sponsor this event and refreshing Coca-Cola can be found at all refreshment stations along the route.

Old Mutual Two Oceans Marathon

The Old Mutual Two Oceans Marathon has become, with the exception of the Comrades Marathon, the most famous ultra-marathon in South Africa, a beautiful and picturesque race that is known worldwide. Thousands of runners enter this event as well as a very popular half marathon (21 km), which is also held on the same day as the ultra-marathon.

Both Powerade and Coca-Cola are proud sponsors of the Old Mutual Two Oceans Marathon and the contribution the event makes towards charity through different organisations each year, such as the 2010 beneficiary, the Bobs for Good Foundation who’s aim it is to give back dignity and pride to South Africa’s most needy learners by giving them a gift of hope – a pair of quality leather school shoes to call their own.

Cape Argus Pick n Pay Cycle Tour

Peninsula Beverages proudly supports cycling in the Western Cape and cyclists enjoy much-needed refreshment and logistical support along the route, with our compliments. We have a long-standing association with cycling in the Western Cape and in particular the Cycle Tour Trust and Pedal Power Association. We remain committed to providing support for all cyclists in the form of hydration.

Coca-Cola is the official carbonated soft drink supplier of many events in the Western Cape including The Cape Argus Pick n Pay Cycle Tour and Die Burger Fietstoer, which both raise much needed funds for charity. Peninsula Beverages has made a tremendous commitment to providing refreshment along the routes and by providing logistical support with our distribution fleet and staff who ensure that all refreshment stations are fully stocked.

PenBev is pleased to be associated with this event as the funds raised are distributed to many charities and worthy organizations under the auspices of the Pedal Power Association and the Rotary Club of Claremont.

The Twist Minstrels Carnival

The Carnival runs for 2 months, culminating in the annual Cape Twist Minstrels Carnival, which takes place on “Tweede Nuwe Jaar” - 2nd January each year.

For the months leading up to the 2nd January, the many Minstrels ‘Troops’ come together at different stadia in the Western Cape to compete against each other for various accolades and the right to join the carnival march through the Streets of Cape Town when the community celebrates freedom in the mother city and livens the streets of Cape Town with song and dance.

PenBev is proud to support these events through product sampling at the stadia and along the route on the day, as well as logistical support.
