In a show of solidarity on World Hunger Day, Coca-Cola Peninsula Beverages (CCPB) donated 2,000 nutritious meals to help address hunger among children in underserved communities across the Western Cape.
This impactful initiative was carried out in partnership with Rise Against Hunger and the Spur Full Tummy Fund—organisations committed to tackling childhood food insecurity in South Africa. The meals were packed for delivery to day care centres that often struggle to provide adequate nutrition to the children in their care.
Throughout the day, CCPB staff came together to volunteer their time, energy, and compassion to ensure each meal was prepared with care. Their involvement transformed the day from a simple act of giving into a shared experience of community upliftment and purpose-driven teamwork.
Meal-packing events like these are vital in supporting early childhood development. Proper nutrition during the early years plays a critical role in cognitive growth, physical development, and classroom readiness, making these efforts more than just short-term relief—they are an investment in the future.
As part of its broader commitment to social responsibility, CCPB continues to collaborate with local partners to make a tangible difference in the communities it serves. The World Hunger Day initiative is one of several programs through which the company seeks to inspire action, support local causes, and help build a more equitable society.
By uniting for a cause greater than themselves, the CCPB team helped turn one day of service into lasting hope for children in need.
