Festive celebrations for young ones at Holy Cross Children’s Home

Energy levels were high at Holy Cross Children’s Home last Friday (12 December 2014) when Peninsula Beverage Company (PenBev – local bottler and distributor of The Coca-Cola Company products in the Western and Northern Cape) celebrated the festive season with the youngsters. The festivities kicked off with music and dance before even more treats from the PenBev team.

It was a party the 37 children aged two to 18 years would never forget as they were spoiled and pampered with party packs, personalised gifts, beverages, cupcakes and of course song and dance. There was even a big jumping castle to make their day extra special.

PenBev chose Holy Cross Children’s Home, which is right on their doorstep, as their annual Corporate Social Investment (CSI) festive season party project. “The festive season is such a unifying time of year and we are grateful to have spent the day with the children. Holy Cross Children’s Home is doing exceptional work in our community and it’s been fantastic working with them to make the children’s day exceptional,” says Denise Behrens, Corporate Communication Manager at PenBev.

The children’s home has been in operation since 1918 and serves as a care centre for youth who have been orphaned, neglected, abandoned or those who have been admitted for temporary care.

Manager at Holy Cross Children’s Home, Sister Cheryl-Anne Ziervogel, says, “We would like to thank the PenBev team for bringing joy into the children’s lives and for making it a day of celebration.”
